SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2013

 Thank you to every one who participated in or donated to the Steps for Students fundraising 5K Run/Walk event on February 2.  SMCS Crusaders for Christ team, led by Fr. Alfonso Tran, had over 420 registered members with over 150 participating in the run/walk at the Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral.   It was a beautiful day with so many families joined together for fun, fitness and fellowship!!!
 
Thank you also to the volunteers who helped prepare over 400 runners’ packets for the Steps for Students event:  Cris Castillo, Robert Vara, Nanette Lynn, Taina Laroche, and Margaret Berkovsky.
 
Our SFS efforts as a community helped raise over $10,000 for SMCS to help close the gap between tuition and the cost of educating our students!  As promised for meeting our $10,000 challenge, Mrs. Lewis will be coloring her hair Crusader burgundy on Friday, March 8.  On that same day, all students who registered for Steps for Students will have a crazy hair day!
